Cold War Berlin

I would highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in Berlin. It is informative and interesting. I didn't realize how little I knew about the split country, and was particularly fascinated in the events leading up to the fall of the wall. I remember watching it on CNN, back in the day. This was an absolutely brilliant walk, led by Paul, that led us through the confused and confusing facts of the building of the war and its consequent effect of the whole world. Starting at the Nordbahnhof (an old East German "ghost station" and still with a definite atmosphere of the old DDR) we were led along a 500 metre stretch of the Wall and associated memorials and museums. Paul was an excellent guide, knowledgeable, happy to answer questions and full of interesting anecdotes. I would recommend this tour to any friends most highly. Chris G. Mar. '25

Nothing not to like about this tour. Our tour guide, Glen, was knowledgeable, humorous and caring towards his group. He had a very clear voice so could easily be heard over the various different background noises. The recent history of The Berlin Wall is such a fascinating and in many ways so sad for the people of Berlin at the time and Glen explained this all brilliantly. We did a few tours during my two week stay in Berlin. This was one of the best. I had always been a bit confused about East/West Berlin and East/West Germany. This tour is incredibly informative about the Cold War, and even those not interested in history or knowledgeable on the subject would have an amazing time. Did a walking tour of Cold War Berlin with a lovely young guy, who was very knowledgeable, engaging, considerate and excellent at telling describing the history and telling the stories. Had the Cold War tour with Maria today and as usual with Insider Tours it was excellent.Maria interjected how some of our tour points of interest were used in movies and this made it all the more informative from a personal point of view.
